Singapore Trip Part 3 - Universal Studios Singapore (USS)

We intentionally picked Monday to go to USS because we figured that most of the tourists will already be gone since the Grand Prix is already over and its a weekday so most people are at work. I must say that it was a good choice, the theme park is not that crowded when we went. Hooray! I bought our tickets in advance and took advantage of the Mastercard Promo Discount (20% off).

We wake up pretty early to be in time for the opening of the theme park. We wanted to cover a lot of ground. Excited much lang talaga kami!

The very expected shot with the USS globe :)

Singapore Trip Part 2 - Sentosa

...and the Singapore adventure continues.

Since the Singapore Grand Prix is during the night, JM and I managed to squeeze in some city tour during the day. One of the places that we visited is Sentosa Island, probably the most famous attraction/go to place when in Singapore.

How to get there?

There are different ways to go to Sentosa Island, visit this site for more info.

We opted ride the MRT from Chinatown to HarbourFront and went to the 3rd floor of Vivo City to ride the Sentosa Express (SGD3). You only have to pay once for the Sentosa Express, once inside Sentosa Island you have unlimited access to use the train to bring you from station to station.

Aside from the Sentosa Expess, you may also use the bus and the tram inside the island for easier travel. The island is not that huge but it would be a sacrifice for your feet if you walk from one point to another :).

What to see?

There are a lot of things that you can do in the island and a lot of things to see and discover. Here are some of the places and activities that we did.

Universal Studios Singapore is inside Sentosa Island, but we spent one whole day inside the theme park so I'll share this story in a different post.

Aside from the famous Merlion that spits out water, there is a larger Merlion statue inside Sentosa.

Singapore Trip Part 1 - Formula 1 Grand Prix

JM and I had the chance to watch the Singapore Grand Prix 2011 live! We've been planning and saving up for this trip for 8 months. I am not a big fan of the Formula 1 but JM encouraged me to watch a few GPs before our actual trip. It was oo-kay for me, but when I set foot inside the actual event my heart was literally pounding --fast! Everyone was on cloud 9! The energy was infectious.

The Singapore Grand Prix lasted for three days. The first day for practice (Friday), second day for the qualifying (Saturday), and the third day for the actual race (Sunday). We were on the Cebu Pacific's first flight to Singapore on a Friday morning (5am), we were already up by 2am! My advise is to be in Singapore a day before the GP for you to familiarize yourself around the place first and to get enough sleep.

Luckily, my parents are already in Singapore (for vacation too) before JM and I arrived so they fetch us from the airport with my dad's friend and they accompanied us to the hostel.

We were seated at the Bay Grandstand. This shot was still early so there are still unoccupied seats.

My Life on Rewind When My Blog Was On Pause

I'm baaack! Before I completely go back to my virtual world, I wanted to share with you guys the things that I did while on hiatus :). Since this will be a long post, I decided to post it part by part. Enjoy! :)

Longchamp Overload

I thought I'll never get over obsessing over longchamp. After I bought my first ever longchamp, I just couldn't stop myself from browsing and browsing the internet on what to get next. That's why I was itching to buy the second one. I think I was too high on the thought of "buying" it. Hey don't judge, we all have our own guilty pleasures in life.

That did not end there, when JM went on a holiday in Europe..he also went bag shopping for me-- particularly more longchamp straight from Paris! Then it hit me, I have so much what will I do with it? Just then and there I felt happy and contented. No more longchamp shopping for me--at least for now. I've my eyes on a different bag *ehem*. Joke. Okay that's a half meant joke. Somehow I've learned that I should have invested my money in some other things, which I am doing now. Wish me luck :).

Don't get me wrong, I still love my bags just the same :D.
